Dear Principal,
I do not agree with the new rule about healthy vending machines. Yes it is a good thing to offer the healthy snacks but the other machines should have been left alone. I don't say that just because people like junk food better because not everyone does but I say that because it gave more options for people.
One reason to have the other vending machines is because we do not get to choose our lunch anymore. We get served something and thats it we don't have a second or third option anymore. We use to have the regular lunch, all a cart, and a salad bar. Then we had that but only had salad bar on certain days. Next all a cart got taken away and we had two or three options. Each lunch line had something different and on tuesdays and thursdays we would have the salad bar. But then salad bar got taken away and now we don't even have two options. We are served the same thing in both lines we don't have any other options.
Also some people would get a snack to take on their bus ride home. They did that because some kids have a really long ride until they get to their house. They would use that to hold them over until they got home where they could find something else to eat. But now they might not have that option because something they liked might have been in one of the machines that we can no longer have access to. I do understand that people shouldn't be eating in class but the school could instead of taking the machines away they could put them on a time lock thing. For example in the mornings during lunch and after school.
